Ingredients:  
2 lbs ham steaks (1/4 t 1/2 inch thick)
4 T butter or bacon fat
1 C water
2 T leftover coffee

Directions:
Directions:
Fry ham in butter or bacon drippings or mixture of both over med high heat till well browned. Set aside on warm platter. Reduce heat and add 1 C water, scraping pan to loosen any browned pieces. Simmer for several minutes and stir in coffee. Serve over ham and biscuits.

Big Mama was my maternal great-grandmother. She always called this water gravy cause you could make it even if you had no milk. You can make it without coffee...but it isn't as good.
