1 pkg active dry yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 c. unseasoned mashed potatoes
2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. flour
8 oz pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
fruit filling

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add potatoes, sugar, shortening, eggs, salt and flour. Knead until smooth. In a separate bowl, cream together sugar and cream cheese.

Divide in half. Roll each half of the dough to a 1/4" thick rectangle. Slice sides of dough for braiding. Spread cream cheese filling down center of dough. Spread fruit filling over the cream cheese. Braid dough over tops of filling by folding over side slices, alternating sides.

Bake at 375º for 20-25 minutes. (Optional: top with powdered sugar glaze)
