1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed firmly
1/3 cup turbanado (raw) sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla (tahisan if available)
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cups bran flakes
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 14 Quaker oats
1/2 cup currants or raisins (optional)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In medium bowl, stir together flour, bran flakes, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. In a large bowl, cream together butter, and the sugars. Mix in egg and vanilla. Add dry mixture to creamed mixture and mix. Stir in oats and currants. Form into 1 inch balls, place on greased cooky sheet, and flatten with fork. Bake at 350º until golden around edges.
