14 qts. ripe tomatoes
7 medium onions, peeled
1 stalk (bunch) celery
14 sprigs parsley (3 1/2 T. flakes)
3 bay leaves
1 c. minus 2 T. flour
14 T. butter
3 T. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cut up tomatoes. Chop onions, celery, parsley and bay leaves. Cook until celery is tender. Put through sieve. Rub flour and butter to a paste thinned with tomato juice. Add to boiling soup. Stir to prevent scorching. Add salt, sugar, and pepper. Fill jars and process in boiling-water bath, 15 minutes.
