First Layer:
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup Rice Krispies
1 cup Corn Flakes

Second Layer:
1 1/2 tbsp. milk
3 tbsp. vanilla instant pudding
4 tbsp. melted butter
1 cup powdered sugar

Topping:
Use about 6 - 8 oz. chocolate chips (approx 4 -5 oz. milk chocolate chips and the rest dark chocolate chips)
4 tbsp. butter

First Layer:
Melt Karo, peanut butter, and brown sugar over low heat until sugar is dissolved and warm but not hot. Add to cereal. Stir and press into a 9 x 13 (ungreased) pan. Let cool slightly.

Second Layer:
Mix 2nd layer ingredients together in small bowl and spread over first layer.

Topping:
Melt chips and butter together over very low heat. Spread over top. Sprinkle with nuts if desired.

Let cool until chocolate hardens and cut into bite sized squares.

I entered this recipe in the Los Angeles County Fair 2005 recipe contest, and to my amazement (and Diana's) I got a Blue Ribbon! So when Laurie told me she was writing a cookbook, I said, guess what..... lol
