1/2 C. Packed Br. Sugar
1/2 C. Shortening
1/2 C. Unsalted Butter Softened
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 Egg yolks
2 C. Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 Egg Whites
2 C. Chopped Hazel or Macadamia Nuts
Assorted Jellies

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat br. sugar, shortening, butter, vanilla, & egg yolks. Add flour and salt and mix in.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Beat egg whites. Dip balls in the egg whites, and then roll them in the nuts. place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet and press thumb into middle to make an indentation.

Bake for 10 minutes or until cookie is light brown in color. Quickly remake indentation with the back of a wooden spoon and remove from hot pan to wire rack too cool. Fill each cookie with your favorite Jellies.

These cookies will melt in your mouth and will quickly become a family favorite. If you would like you can sprinkle with powdered sugar after you fill with jelly. If you are entertaining used 2 or 3 different flavors and colors of jellies, It makes them so pretty to look at and adds a variety.
