1 stick margarine
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
1 tsp. soda
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 small can angel flake coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Cream cheese filling

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine & shortening. Add sugar & beat until smooth. Add yolks & beat well. Combine flour, soda add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla, add coconut & nuts. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into greased 8" cake pans. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes or until done.

Cream Cheese Frosting:
1, 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese (softened)
1/2 stick margarine or 1/2 c. Crisco

Cream until smooth. Add 1 box powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread between layers & on sides. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
