Fresh Cucumbers
2 Tbsp. Canning Salt
2 cups Vinegar
1-1/2 Tbsp. Pickling Spices*
1 tsp. Powdered Alum
3 cups Sugar
3 Tbsp. Water

Directions:
*NOTE: I use about 1/2 the spices. Wash cucumbers and fill 1/2 Gal. Jar. (I fix mine in a stainless steel dish pan). To a 1/2 gal., put 2 Tbsp. salt. (You can use canning or plain salt), vinegar, pickling spices and alum. Finish filling with cold water and seal. Let set 1-2 weeks. Remove from jar, rinse in cold water. Slice thin. Add 3 cups sugar and 3 Tbsp. water. Dissolve. Pour over sliced pickles. Let stand 24 hours. Ready to eat.
