1 C butter at room temp. *must not be melted!
1 C powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 C all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 C semi-sweet chocolate chips. The darker the better (guittards or ghiradhelli are best)

Directions:
Directions:
pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Cream butter until light and fluffy, add powdered sugar and cream again until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and cream again. Add salt and then slowly add flower a little at a time, stirring at a high speed. Stirring at a slow speed with make for a tough cookie. Flatten with the bottom of a heavy glass or bowl. Bake for 10-12 min or until bottom edge is just barely starting to brown.
