5-7 tart apples (Granny Smith, Pippin etc) peeled and sliced thin.
1 cup sugar
2 Tbls. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 recipe pie crust
2 Tbls. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients together then mix with sliced apples. Place bottom crust in pie pan. Add apple mix then dot with butter. Adjust top crust to fit then crimp edges (be sure to cut steam holes in top crust). Spread crust with milk or cream and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in hot oven, 450º, 10 min. then lower temp to 350º and bake about 40 min. more.
