3 10oz jars of cherries, approx. 60 each
3 T. butter, softened
3 T. white syrup
2 c. shifted powdered sugar
1 lb. chocolate candy coating

Directions:
Directions:
Line a baking sheet with wax paper, set aside. In a medium bowl combine butter and syrup; stir in powdered sugar. Knead mixture until smooth (chill if mixture is too soft). Shape about 1/2 teaspoon of mixture around each cherry and place on prepared baking sheet. Chill for 1 - 4 hours or until firm. In a heavy saucepan melt candy coating over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Line another baking sheet with wax paper. Dip the cherries in chocolate one at a time, coating completely so juice does not escape. Let excess coating drip off. Place on prepared baking sheet. Let cherries stand until coating is set. Store tightly in a cool dry place for 1 - 2 weeks before serving (this allows the powdered sugar coating to liquefy around the cherries).
