Batter: 1/4 lb. butter cut into bits and softened, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 2 c. flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. buttermilk, 1 tsp. vanilla..
Topping: 1/3 c. packed dark brown sugar, 1/4 c. white sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 c. chopped pecans.

Pre-heat oven to 350º. Lightly butter a 13 xx 9 inch baking dish. Batter: Beat butter with sugar and add eggs. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt together and fold into butter mixture alternating with buttermilk. Beat together until smooth and fluffy.
Topping: Stir all the topping ingredients together.
Assemble: Pour 1/2 batter into prepared pan and sprinkle 1/2 of topping evenly over it. Repeat with remaining batter and topping. Bake for 30 min. Cool on rack.
