3 large yellow onions, peeled and sliced.
1/2 c. plus 3 tbsps. melted butter.
1 tbspn. whole caraway seeds.
1/2 c. flour.
1/4 tsp. salt.
1 lb. shredded jack cheese.
10 eggs.
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. large curd cottage cheese
Directions:
Directions:
Whip eggs until fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, salt, cottage cheese, 1/2 c. melted butter and 1/2 lb. jack cheese. Saute onions in 3 tbsps. butter until barely brown but tender. Add to egg mixture along with caraway seeds. Place entire mixture in greased 9x13 baking dish. Top with remaining jack cheese. Bake at 400 F for 15 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350 F for 35 to 40 minutes until top is lightly browned. Monitor closely to prevent over-browning.
