6 eggs
2 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbs lemon extract.

Icing:
2 cups sifted confectioner sugar
1 tsp lemon flavoring
2 tbs softened butter
3 to 4 tbs lemon juice
1 tsp finely grated lemon peel (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat over to 350 degrees 30 minutes prior to baking.
Butter & flour 10 inch tube pan.
Combine sugar & butter on low speed until fluffy. Add lemon extract. Stir in eggs one at a time. Stir in flour until smooth. Pour into pan and bake 1 hour. Cook in pan 20 minutes before turning onto serving plate

Icing:
Add sugar, lemon flavoring, lemon juice to small saucepan. Turn stove on low heat & whisk ingredients to dissolve the sugar. Keep whisking until all ingredients have blended together glaze is very thin. Taste your glaze and adjust as needed to suit your taste. For a sweeter glaze, add an extra 1/2 cup sugar. For a glaze with more zing, add an additional tbs of lemon juice. Use a toothpick to make small holes in the cake before drizzling the glaze over the cake
