1 1/2 cups bran
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup honey (or molasses)
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup wheat germ
Optional - add nuts, dates, current, raisins, or dried apricots

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together, pour into greased muffin tins.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
