2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup unsalted sweet butter (softened)
2 egg yolks
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup finely chopped toasted almonds (pulse in blender)
1 lb. powdered sugar
Whole Cloves

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix butter, eggs yolks, sugar and vanilla. Blend flour and baking powder into butter-sugar mixture. Stir in almonds.
2. Shape into diamonds, crescents or balls. Place on parchment paper.
3. Push one clove into the center of each cookie. 4. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 15-20 minutes. Sift with powdered sugar.

My friend's Greek grandmother used to store these cookies in a shoebox covering the cookies with powdered sugar.
