Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Start with at least one small chicken ie.) 3 to 5 lb size ( big enough a pop or beer can will fit ).
A 1/2 full beverage can , a table spoon or so of vegatable oil and some Montreal Chicken spices

Directions:
Directions:
I like to pre heat my BBQ on high for 15 minutes but have been successful in the oven at 350 Fas well.
Make sure the giblets and neck is removed.
Rinse the chicken cavity well , pat dry with some paper towel…
I rub a little oil in and out side the chicken and then add a rub like Montreal Chicken Spice by Clubhouse… ( you can use salt , pepper and maybe some herbs/spices you like)
You will need to find a way to get your beverage can 1/2 empty.
Now place the chicken so that the can is inserted in the chicken cavity and the legs form a tripod with the can.
Turn the heat off one side of the BBQ and place the chicken over some type of drip catcher ( I use an old pie plate or small low roast pan ).
Place the chicken vertically in the BBQ and cook with indirect heat for about an hour and a half.
The skin will be crispy and meat very juicy.
Ensure the chicken is cooked ie.) juices run clear or meat thermometer shows 165 F...
Let the chicken sit for 10 minutes and then enjoy...

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is often called Beer can Chicken or Beer Butt Chicken but you can also use pop cans , small mason jars or purchase a vetical chicken cage ( rotisserie).
I have heard lots of people use juice , broth or wine as the fluid...
The chicken cooks quite fast and is delicious...
