1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
6 oz. butterscotch chips
1/2 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. water
1 can (12 oz) salted mixed nuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. Mix brown sugar, 1 cup butter, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. Press in ungreased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake until light brown, about 25 minutes. Cool. Mix butterscotch chips, corn syrup, 2 tbsp. butter and the water in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until chips are melted. Spread over baked layer, sprinkle with nuts. Refrigerate until top is firm.
