2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening (she called for lard)
1 c. molasses
1 c. hot water
2 eggs
1/4 t. ginger
1 t. cinnamon
2 t. soda
1 t. salt
1 t. vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients together and add flour until you can either make a drop cookie or enough to toll and use cutouts. Bake at 350 for around 10 minutes. Mix powdered sugar and a little milk for frosting. Grandma use to drop on cookie sheet and use a dish towel over the bottom of a glass (slightly damp) to make cookies round. She then sprinkled with sugar.
