2 sticks melted butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Blend all ingredients together. Spray a 9 X 13 pan with PAM. Spread batter in pan. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, checking frequently after 25 minutes. Do not over bake. Brownies are done when they have pulled away from the pan on all sides.

We love these quick brownies, or "brownie cake", as John calls it. John has had this recipe memorized since he was a kid. The recipe came from Blanche via her mom, Rose Johnson. I once gave this recipe to a friend as "John Zawada Brownies", and the name stuck.
