Cream 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg and 1 tsp. vanilla.

Beat until smooth. Stir in 1 cup flour, 12 tsp. soda & 1/2 tsp. salt. Add 1/2 cup wheat germ.
Stir in 1 cup chipits.
Add 1 cup walnuts.

Drop by tsp. onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 375 F. for 8 to 10 minutes.

1/4 cup chipits = 2 semi sweet baking chocolate squares. Melt baking chocolate of boiling water.
