Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 C. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 C. sugar
1 stick butter (room temp)
2 large eggs
1 tsp. ground anise seed
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350º
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl to blend. Using a mixer, beat the sugar, and butter in a large bowl to blend. Beat in the eggs one at a time, add the flour mixture and beat just until blended. Add the ground anise seed and mix well. (I couldn't find ground anise seed, so I just finely chopped mine) Stir in chocolate chips.
Form the dough into a 16 inch long, 3 inch-wide. Transfer the log to a baking sheet. Bake until barely golden, about 30 minutes. Cool 30 minutes.
Place log on cutting board, use serrated knife, cut diagonally into 3/4 inch slices. Arrange cookies with the cut side down on the baking. Bake cookies until pale golden, about 15 minutes.
