Pastry for 2 crust pie (see "Never Fail Pie Crust")
3/4 c. - 1 c. sugar
2 T. flour
1/2 - 1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 t. salt
6-7 c. (2 - 2 1/2 lbs.) apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 T. butter

Directions:

Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix lightly through apples Heap in pastry-lined 9" pie pan. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust and flute edges; cut vents. Bake in (425º) oven 50-60 minutes, or until crust is browned and apples are tender.
