1/2 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. water
4 c. gooseberries (can use any berries)
Topping:
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 T. oil
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Melt margarine in 9x13 inch dish. Combine sugar and flour in mixing bowl. Combine almond extract and water. Blend liquid mixture into flour and sugar mixture. Stir in gooseberries. Pour mixture into melted butter in baking pan.
Topping: Combine sugar and flour. Mix oil and egg; stir into sugar mixture until crumbly. Spoon topping over batter. Bake in preheated oven at 375º for 40 minutes.
