1/2 c. shortening
1-1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cream above together: Alternately add:
1/4 c. milk and the following mixture:
1-1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
Stir in:
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. grape nuts

Directions:
Directions:
375º, 8 - 10 minutes - drop onto greased cookie sheet. store in tightly covered container. Best after they have seasoned a couple of days.
Makes 3 dozen.
