3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 scant tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (opt.)
1 c. shortening
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 T. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shortening into first four ingredients. Beat eggs in another bowl. Add sugar, milk and vanilla to beaten eggs. Beat this well and pour into the dry ingredients to form dough. Let dough chill. Then roll out thin and cut with Christmas cookie cutters. Bake in 375º oven until delicately browned. Baked cookies may be frozen ahead and decorated later.
