Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. light Karo corn syrup
2 c. raw, shelled peanuts
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
In a large, heavy pot combine sugar, syrup, peanuts and water, mix well; cook over medium heat until peanuts start "popping" and mixture reaches hard crack stage, 298-310 F. Mixture is ready when a small amount dropped in cold water forms a solid thread and does not stick to your teeth. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour mixture into a rimmed baking sheet that has been generously greased or lined with parchment or wax paper. Cool completely.
