3 lbs. stew meat or chop suey mix
1 large onion, halved and quartered (Granny always said "The more onions, the better")
1 pack of celery, diced
1 can water chestnuts
1 can bamboo shoots
2 large cans bean sprouts
1 can mushrooms (optional)
soy sauce to taste
1 bottle Chinese Bead Molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat while draining off the juice and save. Don't burn the meat but be sure to get it nice and browned. Add onions while cooking meat. When fully browned add juices back in along with enough water to cover the meat. Add celery, soy sauce and molasses. Cook for 1-2 hours till meat is tender. Add in chestnuts and bamboo shoots. Thicken the mixture by adding a cornstarch-water mixture to the chop suey. Serve over rice.
