5 1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 pkg dry yeast
1 T sugar
2 t salt
1/4 t baking soda
2 c milk
1/2 c water
Cornmeal

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, the yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda. In a saucepan, heat mil and water until hot, our into flour mixture. Beat with a wooden spoon until combine. stir in more flour (about 2 cups) to make a stiff batter. Spoon batter into well greased loaf pans, sprinkle with cornmeal. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45 min. Bake for 25 min. at 400º until done. Remove from pan immediately. Slice and toast.
