1/2 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/3 c. water
2 1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/3 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
3 egg whites
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Stir in 1 cup sugar until blended. Add and blend cocoa and 1/3 cup water. Sift salt and flour and add alternately with 1 cup cold water. Mix in soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon water. Gently fold in 3 egg whites by hand and add 3/4 cup sugar slowly. Beat until stiff. Bake at 360º for 35 minutes.
