1/2 c. sugar or honey
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. hot water
1 c. cool water or milk
add 1 egg beaten to this

Then add yeast 1 pkg. that has been dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water. Add plain flour to make constincy of cake batter. Then let rise until double 1 1/2--2 hours. Stir down add 1/2 tsp. each of soda, salt and baking powder, then flour to make stiff dough.

Pour out on floured board, nead with heel of hand until smooth and sating to use now shape and let rise again and bake,or store in greased bowl until ready to use. The bowl is suppose to be air tight. Punch down each day you can mix whole wheat flour with the white it is very good. This will last close to a week in frig. Just let it warm up a little before shaping your rolls, and let rise. Bake 400* until brown as much as you like. When riseing the dough should be covered with a cloth.
