2 750 ml bottles of red wine
1 cup brown sugar
10 oz water
17 whole allspice
7 cloves
2 grams (1/2 cinnamon stick)
13 grams dried orange peel

Dissected mulling spice bag yielded the above quantity of dried spices.

Place spice into a small bag or tea strainer. Heat until warm (do not boil). Simmer slowly for at least one hour, the longer, the better.
