2 cups light corn syrup (one 16 oz bottle)
1 cup sugar
6 tbsp unsalted butter
5 eggs slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Dash salt
1 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Tsp flour
1 9" pie shell

Preheat oven to 375º
Put flour on bottom of pie pan-fit pie crust into pan and crimp edges-put pecans evenly into bottom of pie crust.
In a saucepan combine corn syrup, sugar and butter and bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer for 5 mins. uncovered-stirring occasionally-remove from heat and cool for 10 mins.
Stir occasionally.
While syrup is cooling, combine eggs, vanilla and salt. Slowly pour cooled syrup mixture into eggs and beat well. Pour over nuts (they will float to the top). Bake for 20 mins. Then loosely cover pie with foil and continue to bake for an additional 30 mins (there will be about a quarter size center that will still be have a little giggle. Cool on rack to room temp.
