3 cups flour
1/2 t salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 t baking powder
1 1/2 T poppy seeds
1 1/2 t vanilla
1 1/2 t almond extract
1 1/2 t butter extract
1 1/8 cups oil
2 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups milk

Glaze to pour over hot cakes -
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 t almond extract
1/2 t butter extract

Directions:
Directions:
Soak poppy seed in the milk. Mix eggs, oil, and sugar until smooth; add milk and poppy seeds, vanilla and extracts; sift together dry ingredients and mix into wet mixture. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans and bake at 350 º for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cakes cool in pans 10 minutes, loosen edges with knive, and turn out onto rack with top up. Poke holes in tops of hot cakes (I use a skewer), before pouring glaze over them.
