Use fresh, firm cucumbers. Wash. Pour boiling water over them and soak overnight. Can use alum. Slice and pack in jars.

3 3/4 c. sugar
2 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. salt
4 1/4 tsp. celery seed
4 1/4 tsp. tumeric
3/4 tsp. mustard seed

Bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Pour boiling hot over cucumbers in jars. Seal. Process in boiling water 5 minutes. Makes 6 pints.
