2 1/3 c. plain flour, 1 2/3 c. sugar, 1 1/4 c.(3 medium) ripe mashed bananas, 2/3 c. shortening, 2/3 c. buttermilk, 3 eggs, 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder, 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. chopped nuts Vanilla Butter Frosting 3 c. powdered sugar, 1/3 c. softened margarine, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 2 Tbsp. milk

Beat all ing. in large mixing bowl on low speed for 1 min. and scrape sides. Beat on high speed for 3 min. and scrape sides again. Pour in a greased and floured 13x9 pan. Bake at 350º for 45-50 minutes. Frosting Beat pwd sugar and margarine together. Add vanilla and milk and beat until frosting is smooth and spreading consistency.
