Cake:
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1-1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, sliced in 1/2" slices

Glaze:
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. milk

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease 9x13 pan, set aside.
Cake: Combine flour, salt, soda and spice. In a large bowl beat sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla with mixer for 3 min at medium speed. Add flour mixture and stir until just moistened. Fold in apple slices. Pour batter evenly into pan. Bake 50-55 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
Glaze: In small pan over medium heat bring all ingredients to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Boil 1 minute. Spoon half over warm cake, set remainder aside. Allow cake to stand for 5 min. Top each serving with some remaining glaze.
