4 cups fresh basil
1 large clove garlic
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup pignolia nuts
1 tsp lemon juice
3/4 cup olive oil

Directions:
Directions:
Add these ingredients as listed individually into a food processor and chop completely.
Lastly add he olive oil slowly, in a steady stream.
If you have a pulse button on your processor use it.
Adding 1 to 2 tbsp. of boiling water may be needed to thin out the sauce.

Pesto can be frozen in ice cube trays. You can pop out one cube at a time without defrosting the entire batch.
By adding the tsp of lemon juice it helps keep a bright green color, otherwise pesto can turn an unappealing dark color when it oxidizes.
