1 C. sweet butter
1 C. sifted flour
1 1/2 C. unpeeled almonds, grated
1/8 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 egg yolks
1/2 C. raspberry jam
1/2 egg which, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tbsp confectioners sugar

preheat oven to 325
Crumble or chop butter into flour; add almons. Mix sugar with cloves, cinnamon and egg yolks. Add to flour mixture.

Turn 2/3 of dough into a 9" ungreased spring form pan. Press over bottom an half way up sides. Spread with jam. Roll egg-sized balls of remaining dough between palms to make long rolls about a third to a half-inch in diameter and about 8" long. Put rolls on baking sheet; chill until firm.

Using a spatula, lift rolls and arrange lattice-style over jam. Fasten to to dough aroun rim of pan by pressing lightly. Brush with egg white. Bake on lower shelf of oven about and hour and 15 min.

Set pan on rack and partially cool cake before remving rim of pan. Before serving, sprinkle cake with confectioner's sugar. Cut in small pieces. This is very rich
