1 cake yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. oats
2 1/2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/3 c. instant milk crystals (optional)
5 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Mix shortening, oats, boiling water, salt & sugar; cool to lukewarm. Stir in eggs, yeast & milk; add flour. Cover; let rise for 45 minutes. Knead lightly on floured board; shape into 2 loaves. Let rise for 45 minutes. Bake at 350º for 40 minutes. Remove from pan to cool.
