5 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 yeast cake
2 Tbsp warm water
2 c. buttermilk
1 stick margarine, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Blend in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand for 5 minutes. Add to buttermilk. Add buttermilk-yeast mixture to flour mixture; mix well. Turn out on board or pastry cloth; roll or pat to desired thickness. Cut biscuits, dip in melted margarine and place on greased pans. Bake at 450º for 12 minutes. Note: These biscuits can be baked at once or let stand. Once prepared, can be covered with foil & frozen.
