1 c. butter or lard
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 3 tbsp. cold water
3 1/2 cups flour, sifted = 4 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. powdered ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, until thoroughly mixed.
Add remaining ingredients, mixing well after each addition.
Drop from teaspoon onto baking sheet.
Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes.
