1/2 cup lukewarm water
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp yeast
1 cup milk, lukewarm
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
3/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup melted shortening (lard)
3 eggs, whisked
7-8 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Stem and wash cherries.
Mix 1/2 cup warm water, sugar and yeast, set aside.
In large mixing bowl add remaining ingredients, add yeast mixture. Add flour and knead til smooth. Let rise til doubled in size.
Wrap dough around cherries, steam 15 minutes in covered pan.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix, drizzle with butter.
