1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 squares chocolate,melted
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening and add sugar gradually.Add the egg and beat.Mix the baking powder with the salt and flour then add vanilla to milk.

Add the liquid and dry ingredients alternately to the egg mixture, adding dry ingredients first and last.Add melted chocolate.

Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheets.Bake for 10 minutes in a moderately hot oven (350) .Serve plain or with chocolate icing.
