2 pounds ground beef
2-3 Tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons oregano
2 teaspoons salt
4 Tablespoons sugar
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 ( 8-oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 ( 6-oz.) cans tomato paste
4 paste cans water

Directions:
Brown meat. Drain. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low a few hours or cook in crock pot on low.
Crumble tortilla chips on plate first.
Pile on meat, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, black olives, green onions, chopped tomatoes, picante sauce, sour cream, guacamole or any other topping you like.

This makes a lot and is great for a crowd. I usually put toppings in individual bowls an let everyone create their own "train wreck". This also can be served over cooked rice.
