1 lb ground browned beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 large carrot chopped very small
1 oz beef dripping
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp mixed herbs
1 Tblsp fresh chopped parsley
1 tsp flour
1 Tblsp tomato paste
10 fl oz hot beef stock
salt and freshly ground pepper
For topping:
2 lb potatoes, peeled
2 medium leeks, cleaned and chopped
2 oz butter
1 oz cheddar cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.Fry onions in the drippings until they are soft, then add carrot and meat. COntinue to cook for about 10 minutes until meat and carrot have browned a little. Season with salt and pepper and add cinnamon, mixed herbs, and parsley. Stir in the flour, mix the tomato paste with the hot stock. Add to the meat mixture and simmer. TO make the topping: Boil potatoes in salted water and cook the leeks gently in the butter. When potatoes are done, cream them and stir in the cooked leeks together with their butter and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Put the mixture into a well greased baking dish, spread the potato mixture over the top, sprinkle on the created cheese and bake for about 25 minutes or until the top is crusty and golden.
