1 Tbsp butter
2 1/2 cup milk
3 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup short grain rice
1/4 cup raisins
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a 2 qt. casserole dish,melt butter for 20 to 30 seconds on high power. Stir in the rice ,milk, raisins and sugar. Cover and vent the dish and cook for 6 to 8 minutes or until the milk just comes to a boil. Stir well, cover and vent agian. Set oven to defrost or 30 % power and cook for additional 25 minutes. Let rest, covered for 5 minutes before checking the tenderness of the rice. Stir in the vanilla. The pudding will become thick and creamy upon standing. Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg over top before serving.
