1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 can fruit cocktail
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
cool whip

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, soda and salt together; set aside. In a bowl, combine fruit cocktail and egg; add dry ingredients; mix well. Pour into greased 8x12 pan. Mix together brown sugar and chopped nuts; sprinkle over top of cake. Bake 45 min in a 350º oven. Serve with cool whip.

This recipe came from Dan's mother and it is one she served at the Home Extension meetings in the 1960's/1970's. She occasionally served it during the holidays too.
