1 Head red cabbage
2 apples
1 medium onion (careful not to use too much, this just adds a little flavor)

1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup water
4 TBS brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Dot with butter use about 2 Tbs

Chop cabbage in about 1 inch pieces.
add:
diced apples peeled about 1/2 inch pieces
add:
chopped onion about 1/4 inch pieces, so they disappear while cooking and Bridgette can't pick them out.

Make sauce and stir in above.
Bake 350 in covered dish for at least 1 hour. Dot with butter before baking. You can stir once 1/2 way through if you would like.

This is one of those dishes like chili that is almost better the next day.
