Bread Dough
1 cup water
1 package yeast
6 cups flour
1 cup milk
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. Crisco shortening

Filling
1 stick pepperoni
1 can tomato paste
1 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Oregano
Optional diced green pepper & onion

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk and add sugar, salt, shortening and water. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and add to milk mixture. Add flour gradually to make a stiff dough. Knead dough on floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place dough in greased bowl, cover and let rise to double in size. Punch down dough.
Roll dough on floured surface into a rectangle. Spread tomato paste over top of dough, sprinkle oregano, layer pepperoni slices, optional green pepper and onion, add cheese and roll up like a jellyroll. Connect ends to make a circle. Let rise.
Bake in a preheated 350º over for about 40 minutes or golden brown. Let cool on rack.
note: extra bread dough can be used for dinner rolls.
